Internet Service Provider (ISP)
An internet Service Provider (ISP) is a company that provides a telecommunications connection to the internet that allows a user to "be online". The connection may be provided in many different forms. It could use existing telephone lines, existing cable TV lines, new fiber optic cable may be strung or the user has to use a modem and dial a phone number.
