• A network architectures is made up of a certain cable type,  access method,  and topology. 
• Two popular Ethernet architecture are 10BaseT.  10BaseT uses twisted - pair cabling at 10 Mbps (CAT 3) and uses CSMA/CD as the access method.  100BaseT runs at 100 Mbps using CAT 5 UTP cabling.  Both architecture that uses token passing as the access method and is configured in starch topology.
